Ramos linked with three European giants

With Real Madrid confirming that Sergio Ramos will be leaving the club, there are three European giants reportedly in the chase for his services.

According to the GiveMeSport, the 35-year-old's shock exit from Los Blancos has caught the attention of Manchester United, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.

The three European big-spenders are said to be ready to match Ramos' reported £312 000 (R6.1 million) weekly wage as they look to strengthen their defences ahead of next season.

United had a failed pursuit of the centre-back in 2015 when they bid £28.6 million (R560 million) for him, but the defender chose to renew his contract with Los Blancos at the time.

PSG are yet to replace former stalwart Thiago Silva and apparently see Ramos as the ideal candidate for that role, while Chelsea, who are looking to mount a Premier League title challenge next season, are said to see the Spaniard as stop-gap option that could allow them to spend money in other positions.

Among the many pieces of silverware he got his hands on during his 16-year spell at Real, Ramos won five La Liga titles, two Copa del Reys, and four Champions League trophies, including "La Decima", the club's historic 10th European title.

The Spaniard will bid an official farewell at a press conference on Thursday afternoon.
