Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of highly-rated France left-back Ferland Mendy from Olympique Lyon in a deal worth a reported €50 million.
The France International, 24, has signed a six-year contract at the Santiago Bernabeu after a standout season in Ligue 1 with Lyon and is expected to be a long-term replacement for club stalwart Marcelo.
Real have already signed Belgium superstar Eden Hazard from Chelsea for a staggering €100m deal and Serbia striker Luka Jovic from Eintracht Frankfurt for a reported €60m.

In March, they signed FC Porto defender Eder Militao for €50m and compatriot Rodrygo Goes will officially arrive at the end of the current month from Brazilian Serie A side Santos in a deal worth €45m.
In what has been described as a third Galactico project, the transfer spending under club President Florentino Perez has now exceeded the €300m mark and more arrivals are expected before the end of the off-season window.
