Utd in talks with £60m Portugal star


Manchester United are said to be closing in on their first major signing of the January transfer window.

However, with the injury troubles of Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay, the club have made an attacking midfielder one of their key priorities.

And long-term target Bruno Fernandes is said to be the priority, with BBC Football reporting that United and Sporting have held face-to-face talks over the £60m-rated Portugal star.

The 25-year-old emerged as one of the hottest properties around Europe after scoring a staggering 32 goals, while registering a further 18 assists in 53 games last season.

And this year, he's followed it up with equally impressive form in the final third, with 15 goals and 13 assists in 25 appearances across all competitions.

While AS Monaco, Chelsea and Tottenham are all said to be interested, it's believed The Red Devils are the only side to have opened talks with the talented midfielder.
