Free agents still available to sign


After the transfer window officially shut this week, several players remain on the lookout for new clubs, including an AFCON-winning captain and a Juventus legend.

There are plenty of unemployed players who are looking to get back into professional football, but they just need to find a club to play for first.

Among these players, some hold glittering CV's, like former Leicester City star Shinji Okazaki, who left Malaga this week without having kicked a ball for the Spanish club.

In less than two months after joining, the former Premier League champion was released from his contract after his registeration with the league was revoked due to their fanancial restrictions.

Another player, who surprisingly has yet to secure his future with a new team in Juve legend Claudio Marchisio, who left his boyhood club last year after 13 seasons.

However, his spell in Russia with Zenit St Petersberg lasted just one season, as he opted not to renew terms.

At 33, the Italy international midfielder still has plenty to offer, despite only making 15 appearances for the Russian Premier League giants.

Among the players still clubless, include two other Premier League title winners and a midfielder with 379 apperances in LaLiga.
