A star-studded consortium led by Premier League legend Dennis Bergkamp are reportedly planning a shock takeover of an English club.
The former Arsenal superstar has reportedly joined forces with Henrik Larsson and Dirk Kuyt, who starred for Manchester United and Liverpool respectively.
It's been claimed the trio of former players are planning an ambitious takeover of League One club Wycombe Wanderers, while roping in Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman as an advisor.
According to reports, the legendary trio have been planning to become the first high-profile group of former players to lead an English Football League club.
Despite making progress in talks with the third-tier club, the Wycombe board reportedly ended negotiations after another bid was launched by a company from the United States, led by businessman Rob Couhig.

Prior to their bid falling through, a source close to the consortium told The Athletic: "We're not coming over pretending to know everything.
"We know a lot and we're going to bring that together with the people working at the club to make it a joint venture. It's a family club and we have to treat family as family."
The report further added that the former players are closely monitoring the outcome of the latest takeover talks with Couhig, in hopes of still landing the deal.
