PSG 'surprised' by Messi's behaviour

Ligue 1

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly been surprised by Lionel Messi's behaviour in his first few months with the club.

The Argentine superstar ended his 21-year stay at Barcelona in June after the club were unable to re-sign him due to their on-going financial troubles.

Messi then secured a move to the Ligue 1 leaders on a two-year deal. He was one of few new signings made by the French club in the previous transfer window.

French publication L'Equipe have reported that the club have been surprised with the superstar's humility with the squad since moving to the French capital.

Messi has not been consistent in Ligue 1 after only registering one goal in 11 appearances, while he has netted five goals in six UEFA Champions League appearances.

The reports adds that the Argentine wants to be treated the same as every other player and has not imposed his opinion on his teammates.

Mauricio Pochettino's charges resume action on Sunday evening against Olympique Lyon, but Messi is expected to miss the clash as he continues to recover from Covid-19.
