As a result, European Football journalist Gianluca Di Marzio have drawn up a short-list of potential replacements to replace the Argentine coach.
This includes Tottenham Hotspur's Antonio Conte, former German World Cup-winning coach Joachim Low and Spezia tactician Thiago Motta.
The report claims Ajax Amsterdam coach Erik ten Hag was also part of the short-list, but he has since agreed to join Premier League giants Manchester United.
