PSG ready to offload Neymar?

Ligue 1

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly ready to offer Neymar to FC Barcelona in an attempt to keep Kylian Mbappe in their ranks.

With the January transfer window just a few weeks away, it was previously reported that the French forward had made the decision to leave the Ligue 1 giants at the end of this campaign.

However, it appears that Les Parisiens are not giving up on keeping their star beyond this season just yet, with the latest reports suggesting just how far the club is willing to go to keep the player

According to Spanish outlet El Nacional, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has offered Neymar to the Blaugrana in an attempt to keep hold of the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner.

Parting ways with the Brazil talisman could help the club free up some funds that could be used in contract negotiations with Mbappe's camp, with PSG seemingly planning to offer the France attacker new wages that are too good to reject.

Another factor that seemingly led to this decision is Neymar's club form in the 2021/22 campaign to date, during which he has scored just three times in 11 matches.

With that being said, there is one possible stumbling block – the Brazilian's wages, which amount to €52 million (R906 million) a year, according to BeSoccer.

Barcelona may not be able to afford that hefty salary as the club's well-documented financial issues continue to affect their ability to make big moves in the transfer market.
