Ligue 1: PSG bounce back with big win

Ligue 1

Paris Saint Germain 4-0 Toulouse

Eric Choupo-Moting’s double helped Paris Saint Germain to a 4-0 victory over Toulouse at the Parc des Princes in Paris.

PSG struggled to settle and went into halftime goalless. The second period sprung to life with Choupou-Moting breaking the deadlock on 50 minutes.

An own-goal from Mathieu Goncalves five minutes later doubled the hosts tally before Choupo-Moting added his second in the last 15 minutes.

Marquinhos rounded off the contest with an 83rd minute header to take the champions three points off table-topping Rennes.

AS Monaco 2-2 Nimes

AS Monaco’s winless run continued after a 2-2 draw against Nimes at the Stade Louis II in Sunday’s Ligue 1 action.

Interestingly, Monaco took a two-goal lead at the break following a 39th minute finish from Islam Slimani and an added time strike from Wissam Ben Yedder.

Jemerson got his marching orders 55 minutes in the second half, as Nimes launched their come back through a Romain Phillippoteaux in the 71st minute.

Substitute Ahoueke Denkey spared the visitors blushes with the all-important equaliser eight minutes to the end for theirs and Monaco’s first point of the season.

Strasbourg 0-2 Stade Rennes

Stade Rennes enlarged their lead at the top of the standings after a 2-0 win away to ten-man Strasbourg.

Clement Grenier gifted the visitors a halftime lead with a 16th minute finish before M’Baye Niang added a second 54 minutes in the second half.

Abdallah N’Dour saw red in the last seven minutes following a second bookable offence, as Rennes made it three out of three with Strasbourg winless.
