Zidane clarifies Bale's future

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has announced that Gareth Bale will remain with the club for the 2019/2020 season.

Bale was reportedly not in Zidane's plans for the new season, with the club looking to offload the player during the transfer window.

It was revealed last month that Bale was on the brink of leaving the Madrid outfit, but a move to China reportedly fell through.

The Welshman started and grabbed an assist in Los Blancos' 3-1 win over Celta Vigo on Saturday evening and Zidane confirmed the player will remain with the club.

"Bale is staying," Zidane was quoted as saying by Football Espana. "Everyone in the squad is positive and he is part of that.
"I always intended to start him today, regardless of the injury to Eden Hazard, what is important now is that we concentrate on the season ahead."
Bale has scored 102 goals and registered 66 assists in 232 appearances for the Spanish giants since his arrival from Tottenham in 2013.
