FC Barcelona legend Xavi Hernandez has revealed what he thinks the Spanish giants should do before signing 2018 FIFA World Cup winner Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid.
Griezmann was the subject of interest from Catalan giants ahead of the previous campaign, but opted to remain with Atletico, going public with his decision to do so prior to the 2018 World Cup.
With the 28-year-old having confirmed his intention to leave Atleti at the end of this season, however, speculation is rife that Griezmann will link up with Lionel Messi at the Camp Nou.
Blaugrana legend Xavi, however, believes a few issues would need to be ironed out in the Barca dressing room before the proposed move is completed, with Griezmann snubbing Barcelona's overtures last time around.
"I understand it hurt what he did last summer," Xavi told Spanish outlet AS Sport.
"If the reason for the rejection (from some Barca players) was only a footballing issue, I'd speak with the dressing room to make them see he's a player who can bring something.
"We have to see, however, who is signing him? The sporting director? Valverde? The president? If I came to Barca, I would ask for the signings, and if the dressing room doesn't agree with any of them I'd speak with them, but in the end I decide. Be it Griezmann or whoever.
"Another thing would be if the coach doesn't want him either. Then we have a problem."
Overall, Griezmann made 48 appearances across all competitions in the 2018/19 campaign, finding the back of the net on 21 occasions and registering 10 assists.
