FC Barcelona legend Xavi Hernandez has weighed in on the Blaugrana's reported pursuit of Antoine Griezmann, and also revealed his optimism at a Neymar return to the Camp Nou from Paris Saint-Germain.
Neymar, 27, left Barca in 2017 in a world-record transfer move to PSG. However, the Brazilian superstar reportedly appears keen on a return to the Spanish club, with speculation having intensified after he skipped the first day of the Ligue 1 giants' pre-season training.
Xavi, who played alongside the Brazilian at Barca prior to joining Qatari side Al Sadd in 2015, believes Neymar would prove to be an "incredible signing" for the Spanish giants, but admitted his return could prove difficult in the current transfer market.
"He would be an incredible signing," he said, as per Marca.
"But I see it as being difficult, honestly. I think it's very difficult.
"We have seen so many things that I thought I'd never see, though, such as PSG paying 222 million euros, so we'll have to wait.
"There's no doubt that he's one of the best players in the world, but let's see what Barcelona do."
Ernesto Valverde's men have also been heavily linked with the services of departed Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann, who Xavi labelled as an "extraordinary player".
"He (Griezmann) is a great player, a world star," he added.
"He made a difference with Atletico Madrid and with France. He's an extraordinary player. It's still not official, but it seems like he's going to Barcelona. I think it'll be a great signing.
"Whether or not the Frenchman can play alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez is another issue. We'd have to ask Valverde (how he'll fit in). He'll make the pieces fit.
"But if he signs it's because Valverde thinks he can play with the players there."
