Real Madrid are reportedly eyeing a move for Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski as an alternative should their pursuit of Kylian Mbappe fail.
Spanish publication AS has reported that the LaLiga giants have now set their sights on the Poland captain, a player they have been linked with a few times over the past few years.
Having signed for Bayern from Borussia Dortmund in 2014, Lewandowski has gone on to achieve an impressive tally of 294 goals and 65 assists in 329 matches for the Bavarians, according to Transfermarkt.

It is believed, however, that he could be interested in a new challenge after winning every club honour possible with the Bundesliga club.
It is claimed that Real see the veteran as a player who can push manager Carlo Ancelotti's side to a league title challenge after the club finished second in the 2020/21 LaLiga season.
Los Blancos were initially said to be targeting a move for Norway sensation Erling Haaland, but after Dortmund reportedly slapped a huge asking price of €175 million (2.9 billion) on the 20-year-old, Real president Florentino Perez was seemingly forced to pull out of negotiations for the striker.
Bayern have insisted that they will not sell Lewandowski, but with Haaland's transfer fee reportedly dropping to €100 million (R1.7 billion) in 2022, and the 32-year-old in the latter stages of his career, the Bundesliga giants might consider cashing in for the right price.
It is further claimed that Manchester City's Raheem Sterling and Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane are also on Perez's attacking watch list, which includes some other Premier League stars – you can see them in the gallery above!
