FC Barcelona legend Samuel Eto'o could be about to come out of retirement after being approached by Spanish third division side Racing de Murcia.
Murcia, who ply their trade in Spain's Tercera Division, have been drawn against LaLiga side Levante in the first round of this season's Copa del Rey, and club president Morris Pagniello has revealed that he hopes to make Eto'o a marquee signing ahead of the much-anticipated match.
"At this time of the morning, I would say that the signing of Samuel Eto'o by our team is at 50-50," Pagniello told Radio Marca.
"Next week we will know if we can sign Eto'o. If not, we have a Plan B prepared. We have several investors in Mexico and the Emirates who can financially compensate the operation"

"If we sign him, it is the manager's job to align him. But we are clear that the game against Levante is very important and that it is time for there to be exceptions."
Eto'o, who played for likes of FC Barcelona, Inter Milan and Chelsea during his illustrious career, made his last competitive appearance in 2019 when he was on the books of Qatar Stars League side Qatar SC.
