Barca 'hijack' Chelsea's move for France star


Barcelona have reportedly hijacked Chelsea's move for a France star after an agreement was reached.

The Blues were reportedly closing in on a deal for Sevilla defender Joules Kounde after the club offered £55million for his services.

Fabrizio Romano reported that a deal was in the final stages as the Blues' offer was too important to be matches, but it seems there could late movement.

The deal for Chelsea was also thrown into disarray after Kounde turning up to Sevilla's pre-season unannounced, despite being left behind by the club.

Spanish journalist Gerard Romero now reported that Barcelona have reached an agreement in principle with Sevilla for the transfer of Kounde.

"This morning Barca and Sevilla have reached an AGREEMENT principle for Jules Kounde," Romero tweeted.

"The operation is closed by 99 per cent, except for a cataclysm in the next few hours, the central defender of Sevilla will be a culer [Barcelona player]."
