Ex-Real star 'agrees' to join Barca

A former Real Madrid star has reportedly agreed to join FC Barcelona in the January transfer window, but there is one issue.

Alvaro Morata is believed to have become a target for Xavi Hernandez who is looking to bolster his attack as they look to finish in the top four after a poor start to the season.

Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that the striker, who is on loan at Juventus, has already agreed personal terms with the Catalan giants.

However, the report adds that Juventus will only agree to offload the Spain international if they can find a suitable replacement this month.

Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani has been linked with both Juventus and Barcelona, but it remains to be seen if interim manager Ralf Rangnick will allow the Uruguayan to leave.

Barcelona have already secured the services of Manchester City striker Ferran Torres and Brazilian full-back Dani Alves, but the loss of Sergio Aguero to retirement has altered the club's thinking as they are without a top recognised number nine.
