Gareth Bale's recent call-up to the Wales squad does not sit well with one of his Real Madrid teammates.
Bale has been sidelined through injury in recent weeks, but was recently called up by Welsh coach Ryan Giggs for next week's international break.
Toni Kroos did find it strange that Bale has been called up for national duty, despite not being able to return for Los Blancos.
"Yes, it seems inconvenient to return from your national team, not playing with your club and then be in the right condition again when you have to return to the national team," Kroos told Realtotal.de.
"The moment may not be the best. I hope he will be fine again when he returns (from international duty).
"I am convinced that we will still need his quality in many matches."
When asked about Bale's future at the Santiago Bernabeu, he added, "I do not know what will happen. He was about to leave in the summer," he answered.
"After something like that, it is not so easy to get back to normal, but I get the impression that he is very motivated.
"What will have bothered him most is to have returned from the national team."
