Bale won't leave 'ungrateful' Zidane

Gareth Bale won't be leaving Real Madrid despite a breakdown in relationship with head coach Zinedine Zidane, according to the players' agent.

Bale, 31, cut a frustrated figure on the bench during Los Blancos' celebrations of winning the 2019/20 LaLiga and was criticised for his recent antics whilst on the sidelines.

While Zidane claimed his omission from the matchday squad for the final game of the season was purely tactical, Bale's agent has now reiterated that the club's highest-paid player will not be leaving in the off-season.

The Wales superstar is said to be on a £600,000 per week wage, ranking him as the club's highest-paid player and talk of a loan move does not appeal for 'one of the best players in the world'.

"Gareth is fine. He has two years left on his contract," his agent Jonathan Barnett told BBC Sport. "He likes living in Madrid and he is going nowhere.

"Zidane is ungrateful, Bale is a great loss to the team but he isn't leaving. The reality is that the current situation in the market makes it very difficult for the player to leave.

"He's not looking to outlast Zinedine Zidane. Mr Zidane has been very successful. There's no hatred. Mr Zidane just does not want to play him. Gareth trains every day and he trains well."

Bale has scored 105 goals and registered 68 assists in 251 games while helping Real win four UEFA Champions League titles since joining the club from Tottenham Hotspur in Septemeber 2013.
