FC Barcelona star Gerard Pique admitted he is aware of the clause in Lionel Messi's contract that would allow the Argentine to leave for free.
Spanish publication Cadena SER reported that the superstar's new contract includes a clause that would allow him to leave for free, provided that he informs the club before the end of the season.
Pique has now confirmed that the clause does exsist, and feels the Argentine deserves to dictate his future.
"I already knew Messi is able to leave for free at the end of each season," Pique told Cadena SER, according to ESPN.
"But we all know the commitment Leo has to Barca, and it doesn't worry me at all.
"He's earned the right to be able to choose what he does with his future after everything he's given the club."
