FC Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele reveals why he refused to be included in the deal that brought Neymar back to the Camp Nou.
Dembele was said to have been offered as part of the bid that Barcelona launched to lure Neymar back to the club.
However, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner refused to be used as a makeweight along with Ivan Rakitic and Jean Clair Todibo.
It's been reported that the former Borussia Dortmund star, who worked under Thomas Tuchel during his time in Germany - demanded a 'ludicrous' wage in order for the deal to fall through.
And now in an interview with L'Equipe, he's finally broken silence on the ordeal.
"I don't care who comes in, competition doesn't scare me; I will fight to succeed here," he said abruptly.
The French publication also indicated that Dembele intends to remain in Spain in order to achieve his dreams of winning the Ballon d'Or.
