New Barca signing 'upset' with Xavi


One of Barcelona's January signings are reportedly upset with manager Xavi Hernandez after being left out of the Europa League squad.

The Catalans signed four players in the January transfer window, with Dani Alves, Ferran Torres, Adama Traore and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang all coming in.

However, the regulations for the tournament state that clubs are only allowed to register three new players for the knockout stage of the competition.

Xavi then opted to leave out 38-year-old Xavi and registered Torres, Traore and Aubameyang ahead of their play-off tie against Napoli next week.

Spanish publication Sport have reported that the Brazilian fullback was not to happy about the Europa League snub.

The report claims Alves is grateful to be back at the Camp Nou after parting ways with Sao Paulo, but he is disappointed at missing out on the chance to win his first Europa League title.
