Morocco international Achraf Hakimi has has commented on a possible return to Real Madrid once his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund ends.
The full-back joined the Bundesliga out on a two-year loan deal last season, but missed most of the campaign with injury.
Hakimi played a starring role on Wednesday evening after netting a brace in Dortmund's 2-0 win over Slavia Prague in the Champions League.
However, the Moroccan claims the decision to return to the Santiago Bernabeu does not sit with him.
“Returning to Madrid does not depend on me,” Hakimi said after Wednesday's win.
“The two clubs have to talk and they will decide at the end of the year. It would not be a failure not to return to Real Madrid in the summer. I want to continue growing and I am very focused here.
“I have grown since I arrived in Germany. I have a lot of continuity and confidence – and it shows. For the moment, I have not talked to [Madrid boss Zinedine] Zidane.”
