Messi wants 'immediate' Barca exit

Lionel Messi has reportedly informed FC Barcelona he wants to leave 'immediately' following crisis talks after their humiliating UEFA Champions League exit.

Messi, 33, has endured a power struggle with president Josep Maria Bartomeu and the clubs' hierarchy over the direction of the club over the last 12 months and it's been reported the relationship is now beyond repair after recent talks.

Barcelona's misery after missing out on the LaLiga title to Real Madrid was compounded further with their heaviest ever Champions League defeat when Bayern thrashed them 8-2 in the quarter-finals on Friday evening.

The Argentina captain cut a frustrated figure within the team and was pictured without speaking for the entire half-time break in the team's dressing room.

Following the Bayern game, veteran defender Gerard Pique suggested he would offer himself to leave as the club 'hit rock bottom' - while head coach Quinque Setien is said to have been sacked already.

Now, Esporte Interativo claims that he wants an immediate exit after becoming disillusioned by the ongoings within the Blaugrana and feeling 'isolated'.

The news broke shortly after reports in English media suggested Pep Guardiola is looking to lure the 32-year-old to the Premier League for the 2020/21 season.
