Real & Barca drop points, Atleti move third

LaLiga

Cadiz 1-1 Real Madrid

Real Madrid’s penultimate LaLiga clash of the season saw them play out a 1-1 draw against the relegation-threatened Cadiz on Sunday evening.

A start for a number of fringe players followed on the front of Real in the wake of their 6-0 hammering of the relegated Levante UD during the course of the week.

Los Blancos to that end got the ball rolling perfectly through a finish from Mariano Diaz, but Ruben Sobrino’s strike late in the first half weren’t enough to help his side stage a comeback.

Getafe CF 0-0 FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona were not able to secure four straight victories in their penultimate encounter of the campaign as they stuttered to a goalless draw against Getafe CF at the Estadio Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

It is not a bad result by any stretch for the Catalans, who still secured second spot behind Real Madrid and will play in the Spanish Super Cup next season.

Atletico Madrid 1-1 Sevilla

Atletico Madrid failed to secure a fourth successive win after they allowed a one-goal to slip away and settled for a 1-1 draw against Sevilla.

Atleti were first out of the starting blocks as Jose Maria Gimenez netted the opener on the half-hour mark.

Youssef En-Nesyri struck minutes to full-time to ensure fourth spot for his side, who will head into the final game of the season in fourth spot.

Levante UD 3-1 Deportivo Alaves

Levante UD returned to winning ways after they came from behind to edge Deportivo Alaves 3-1 on Sunday.

A late finish in the first half from Joselu put Alaves ahead and on course to victory, but a spate of finishes from Oscar Duarte, Roger Marti and Jose Luis Morales led the host to victory in the end.

Despite ending up on the winning side, Levante have been relegated along with Alaves.

RCD Mallorca 2-1 Rayo Vallecano

RCD Mallorca moved out of the relegation zone after defeating Rayo Vallecano 2-1 out at the Iberostar Stadium.

Mallorca came into the game in the bottom-three and took the lead in the earlier stages of the first half through none other than Vedat Muriqi.

However, Pathe Ciss pulled the visitors level and with the match headed to a draw, Abdon Prats came good for the host with the winner that rescued the host ahead of the final day next weekend.

Rest of Sunday's results:
