Eibar 1-2 Espanyol
Ten-man Espanyol rallied from behind to see off Eibar 2-1 in the day’s opening encounter.
Eibar were in front after 58 minutes through defender Ivan Ramis, but Facundo Ferreyra replied 13 minutes from time before Esteban Granero fired the winner from the bench minutes later.
Naldo was given his marching orders with the final kick of the game as the Catalans secured their maiden win this season.
Alaves 0-1 Sevilla
Sevilla toppled Atletico Madrid at the summit with a 1-0 win over Deportivo Alaves at the Mendizorroza Stadium.
Sevilla’s winner came 37 minutes into the first half through Joan Jordan, giving the Andalucians leverage over Atletico who went down to Real Sociedad on Saturday.
Celta Vigo 0-2 Granada
Granada nailed down their second win of the term with a 2-0 triumph over nine-man Celta Vigo at the Balaidos.
Celta were a man down as early as the 11th minute with Jorge sent for an early shower as Fran Beltran followed suit a minute before the half-hour mark.
Jorge Sanchez took full advantage of their numerical superiority with the opener in optional time before Yangel Herrera provided the second late on.
Valladolid 1-1 Osasuna
Real Valladolid and Osasuna played to a 1-1 draw in Jose Zorilla Stadium in Valladolid, a result that leaves both near mid-table.
Valladolid, who recently held Real Madrid, were first on the board on 65 minutes through Pablo Hervias, but Rodriguez Navas secured the equaliser for the visitors nine minutes from the full-time whistle.
Real Betis 1-1 Getafe
Nine-man Real Betis came from a goal down to force a 1-1 draw against Getafe at the Benito Villamarin Stadium.
Betis were down in 15 minutes after Jaime Mata profited from the penalty spot, whilst William Carvalho saw red ten minutes later.
Getafe’s reluctance to double their effort backfired as Joaquin levelled with a penalty of his in the 73rd minute while Lorenzo Garcia picked up a straight red card in added time, as Getafe remain winless.
