Suarez brace guides Barca to big win


FC Barcelona 5-2 Valencia

Luis Suarez netted a brace, while Annsumane Fati was on the score-sheet as Barcelona ran riot to thrash Valencia 5-2 on Saturday evening at Camp Nou.

Fati grabbed an lead for Barca in just the second minute, while Frenkie de Jong doubled their lead six minutes later. Kevin Gameiro pulled a goal back for the visitors in the 27th minute but Gerard Pique made it 3-1 in the 51st minute.

Luis Suarez completed the rout with a brace later in the game, while Moi Gomez bagged a second consolation in second-half stoppage time.

Blaugrana moved up to fourth on the log with seven points, while Valencia dropped to 14th with our points, both after four matches.

Leganes 0-3 Villarreal

Villarreal won their first game of the season with a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Leganes on Saturday at Estadio Municipal De Butarque.

Gerard Moreno broke the deadlock for the Yellow Submarine in the 29th minute and Jonathan Silva netted an own goal with six minutes remaining of the first stanza. Moreno sealed the three points with a third goal and his brace in stoppage time.

Leganes lost their fourth consecutive match and are bottom of the table without points, while Villarreal climbed up to eighth with five points both after four games.

Real Sociedad 2-0 Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid's perfect start to the season came to an end after they lost 2-0 to Real Sociedad on Saturday at Reale Arena.

Martin Odegaard broke the deadlock for the hosts two minutes before the hour-mark, while Nacho Monreal got the secoond goal just three miutes thereafter.

Diego Simeone's troops held on to their top position on the table despite the loss with nine points from four matches, while Sociedad climbed up to sixth on the log with seven points from the same number of matches.
