FC Barcelona came back from a goal down to defeat Leganes 2-1 in a LaLiga clash on Saturday afternoon.
All four attacking contingent in Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele started for Barca, who were looking to cement top spot in the Spanish top flight.
The all out approach though had the visitors on the back foot as early as the 12th minute when Youssef En-Nesyri curled into the top corner after turning Gerard Pique inside out.
Leganes went close to doubling their advantage two minutes later, but Oscar Rodrigues fired into the side-netting from a tight angle after miscommunication from the opposite defence.
Sharp goalkeeping from Ivan Cuellar thwarted Suarez to the leveller on the half-hour mark as a one-handed stretch from the shot-stopper directed the Uruguayan’s header around the post.
Barca looked for an inspiration two minutes in the second half and that nearly paid off when Pique headed against the post following a floating cross from Dembele. Within the matter of five minutes, the visitors levelled when Suarez peeled away from his marker to nod beneath the body of Cuellar following a floating delivery from Messi.
Ernesto Valverde made a double change in pursuit to kill the contest four minutes later as Arturo Vidal and Ivan Rakitic entered for Griezmann and Sergio Busquets respectively.
Barcelona seized full control of the match when Vidal fired home from the edge of the post in the final 12 minutes amidst appeals for an offside by the home side.
Javier Aguirre urged his charges to a response in the final moments, but the champions managed proceedings to collect the points.
