During the event, in an exclusive Q&A session with media representatives from most corners of the African continent Marcos Pelegrin, LaLiga South Africa Managing Director, commented, "LaLiga in Africa is delighted to have extended our partnership with SuperSport – the central home of football on the African continent. Through LaLiga TV, we hope to expand our passion for football to our ever-growing fanbase."

Post the media briefing, Dockrat explained: "LaLiga brings the international and exclusivity factor to SuperSport and has helped us achieve remarkable ratings.

"In the same breath, LaLiga TV's offering will continue to give background to Spanish matches, insights into its players plus legends, and leaderboard predictions that are easy for newer fans to consume. Through this venture, we're able to generate significant excitement and new fan experiences that we're sure football fans will love."

Balague added: "There's something special about football. Players, fans, spectators – you name it – we all come together in a mixture of cultures to share our passion for the game. It brings us closer to each other; we form connections and bond over current and past seasons.

"Football is not merely a game, but also plays a key role in breaking down boundaries and finding a way forward for a more unified society."
