After helping Real Madrid claim the 2019/20 LaLiga crown, Karim Benzema has now won the club's Player of the Season award.
On Thursday evening, Real announced that Benzema had won the 2019/20 Real Madrid Mahou Cinco Estrellas Player of the Season accolade, as voted for by the club's supporters.
"I'm proud to receive this trophy because it's from the fans and that makes it an important one for me," the Frenchman told the club's website.
"I'm really happy and it drives me on to do more out on the pitch. It was a different LaLiga season and that applies to before things happened, during it and at the end. Coronavirus made it the toughest season yet, but we've worked really hard.

"I see the team as being in good shape. We're working hard and have got a few days ahead of us to keep that up and continue on in the same vein as we did in LaLiga.
"The Champions League is up next, we know we've got an important game and that it's one we need to win. I'm feeling really good and we're going to prepare for the Manchester City game as best we can."
Benzema's triumph comes after he recorded 26 goals and 11 assists in 47 appearances this season, and the France international could add to his tally next month, when Real resume their UEFA Champions League campaign against City.
