New FC Barcelona signing Frenkie de Jong says he would love to see his former Ajax Amsterdam teammate Matthijs de Ligt join the Catalan giants.
The Dutchman was unveiled as a Barcelona player on Friday after completing a €75million move from the Dutch giants.
De Ligt, meanwhile, has yet to make an announcement on his future after being linked with the likes of Juventus, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United.
De Jong, who plays with the defender at international level, says De Ligt must decide what is best for him.
"I expected you to ask me about De Ligt," De Jong said at the press conference, according to the Standard.
"I would be very happy to see him here, but it's not my choice.
"He has to decide, with his family, what is best for him."
