Four coaches linked to the Barca job


FC Barcelona have reportedly drawn up a four-man shortlist of candidates to replace Quique Setien, who looks to be on his way out of the Camp Nou.

Spanish publication Marca have reproted the Catalan giants have called for an emergency meeting on Monday to discuss Setien's future among other things.

The Catalan giants missed out on the LaLiga title to fierce rivals Real Madrid before they were embarrased by Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League.

Althouh the 8-2 defeat has probably already sealed Setien's fate, but there has been a number of coaches linked with the hot seat at the Camp Nou.

One name that was recently added to the short-list is their former striker Thierry Henry, who coaches Montreal Impact in the Major League Soccer, according to Diaro Sport.

Henry only recently joined up with the MLS outfit but he has reportedly been added to the list that also includes Netherland manager Ronald Koeman, Massimiliano Allegri and Mauricio Pochettino.

After the defeat to Bayern on Friday, Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu revealed that certain decisions had already been made.

“It has been a very, very tough night. I am sorry for the Barca fans and members, for the players … For everyone," Bartomeu told Movistar+. "We were not the club that we represent, I am so sorry.”

“There are some decisions that we had already made, and others that we will make over the next few days. Announcements will be made from next week, we need to make decisions after things have calmed down.

"Today is a day for reflection. Tomorrow we will try to raise our fans’ spirits following such a heavy defeat.

“It was a devastating result. I congratulate Bayern, they played a great game and deserved to go to the semi-finals. We were not up to the occasion, and we can only apologise to the members and fans.”
