Former Real Madrid star full-back Roberto Carlos has revealed he would have loved to see Neymar join Los Blancos instead of FC Barcelona.
Neymar joined the Catalan giants 2013 and went on to form a deadly attacking trio alongside fellow South American stars Lionel Messi and Neymar.
However, the Brazil international shocked the footballing world in 2017 when he left Barcelona to join Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint-Germain for a world record fee of €222 million.
Carlos claims he would have had Neymar at the Santiago Bernabeu a long time had been up to him.
"If it were up to me, [Neymar] would already be here a long time ago, but life is not how one would like it," Carlos told Fox Sports Radio.
"These great players always have to play for the best clubs in the world. Real Madrid today is a reference for any player.
"Do you want to win the Champions League? Come to Real Madrid."
During his time at the Camp Nou, Neymar registered 105 goals and 77 assist in 186 appearances while winning three Spanish Cups, two LaLiga titles and one UEFA Champions League crown.
