FC Barcelona has suffered a blow in their reported pursuit of club legend Xavi Hernandez as their next head coach.
The Spanish giants are reportedly keen on luring Xavi back to the Camp Nou next season to replace Quique Setien after falling behind Real Madrid in the LaLiga title race and were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League.
Xavi already rejected a potential return before Setien's appointment in January and has now seemingly ended speculation by committing himself to a new contract as Al Sadd manager.

The Qatari giants announced on Sunday that the Spain legend has agreed to remain in the hotseat for the 2020/21 season with Xavi himself expressing his delight about their faith in his management.
"I am happy that the squad is complete today after the return of the remaining first-team players, in preparation for this upcoming period and the resumption of the league championship," he told the club's website.
"I am happy to continue with Al-Sadd, and the team's goal will always be to compete for all titles."
