Spanish giants FC Barcelona have completed the signing of 2018 Fifa World Cup winner Antoine Griezmann after triggering the Frenchman's release clause of €120 million (R1.9 billion).
The club took to their official social media accounts on Friday to confirm that the former Atletico Madrid star has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the Blaugrana.
The move ends the speculation regarding the future of Griezmann, who made 257 appearances, scoring 133 goals and assisting another 50 strikes, for Los Rojiblancos.
Griezmann becomes the LaLiga giants' fourth signing for the new season, following the acquisitions of Frenkie de Jong, Neto and Emerson respectively.
The 2016 Euro top-scorer brings an end to his five-year stay with Diego Simeone's side, which saw him clinch three trophies, namely the 2014/15 Supercopa de Espana, the 2017/18 UEFA Europa League and the 2018/19 UEFA Super Cup respectively with Atleti.
