Ronaldo linked with Real Madrid return

Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with a sensational return to Real Madrid after Juventus were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League last week.

Ronaldo has been linked with a move away from the Bianconeri since the beginning of the season, when he was first backed to make a return to the Santiago Bernabeu, and is now said to be seriously considering his options following the club's elimination from the Champions League.

ICYMI: Report: Ronaldo wanted PSG switch

Last week, reports from France suggested that the 35-year-old had publicly stated his desire to join Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain earlier this year, and Spanish publication Sport has now stoked the flames after reporting that Ronaldo's representatives are working on a plan to make the transfer happen.

While PSG appear to be the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's preferred destination, it is claimed further that Ronaldo's posse have not closed the door on a potential return to Los Blancos, for whom he scored an incredible 450 goals in 438 appearances between 2009 and 2018.

Real would reportedly be open to facilitating their record goalscorer's return, but could also receive a boost in their long-time pursuit of Kylian Mbappe should the Portugal international elect to leave for Paris instead.

Newly appointed Juve boss Andrea Pirlo is likely to resist any attempts made to lure his star player away, however, and is already reportedly planning to sign Ronaldo's former Real teammate Isco in a bid to convince him to stay in Turin.

That is according to Italian publication Corriere dello Sport, who claimed that Pirlo hopes to sign the Spain international to improve his midfield, with Blaise Matuidi and Aaron Ramsey both looking likely to leave the club in the coming weeks and Miralem Pjanic's transfer to FC Barcelona having already been confirmed.
