FC Barcelona star Marc-Andre Ter Stegen insists the players will have respect for Ernesto Valverde but they are now looking forward to work under Quique Setien.
Valverde was relieved of his duties of Tuesday evening, despite Barca still in contention for three trophies this season.
Setien was announced as Valverde's shortly after Valverde's sacking and Ter Stegen says the players are doing everything to listen to their new manager.
“First of all, I want to thank Ernesto, who did a great job here for two years,” he told reporters from Marca.
“He will always have our respect here at Barcelona.”
“But we have a new manager now and he is looking to changes things.”
“He has his own ideas, and we are listening and trying to do what he is asking of us.”
“We are hopeful that he will be successful at Barcelona.”
The Catalan giants will take on Granada in Setien's first game in charge on Sunday night.
