Barca's African starlet receives praise

FC Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde showered praise on teen sensation Ansu Fati, who registered a goal and an assist in the thumping win over Valencia.

At just 16-years-old and 318 days, the forward netted after two minutes and then created their second for Frenkie de Jong five minutes thereafter.

Fati has ‘something really special about him’ according to the former Athletic Bilbao manager and is a player who is very focused on his improvement and progression.

“Ansu Fati is a player who has something really special about him. He is very focused on his own improvement and I am confident of his progression,” Valverde said, according to football-espana.

Luis Suarez returned from injury and fired a brace from the bench, with Valverde backing Fati to continue improving his work ethic seeing how he has accepted the first-team role.

“How he develops will depend on him, but he looks to have the correct attitude. He has adapted well to being a first team player, but he must continue to work hard,” Valverde said.

Barca’s attempts for a sixth European crown start on Tuesday with a tricky away tie against Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League’s Group F- the Group of Death.
