After bagging a brace in Barcelona's win over Levante, African-born winger Ansu Fati broke a LaLiga record that stood for 10 years.
Fati earned another start in the absence of Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele and took his opportunity with both hands on Sunday evening.
The 17-year-old bagged both of the Catalan giants' two goals in the first half in a 2-1 victory over Levante to cut Real Madrid's lead at the top to three points.
As a result, the Guinea-Bissau-born player became the youngest player in LaLiga history to score a brace in one game at 17 years and 94 days.
Fati breaks Juanmi Jimenez's record set of 17 years 115 days, which was set in in 2010.
"It is a dream to score goals for this club, and at the Camp Nou, and today I have fulfilled that," Fati told Marca, as per Football Espana.
"I want to thank my teammates, and the coach for giving me another chance to play."
"Everyone has been great with me since I came into the team, and that has made it much easier."
"I want to keep on improving and believing in myself in this team."
