One of the more recent graduates, Pedri, broke into the Blaugrana's first team in the 2020/21 campaign and made 52 appearances as he became a mainstay in Ronald Koeman's side.

His performances eventually saw him being selected for Spain's 2020 European Championship squad, and he was later handed the best young player prize for that tournament.

Pedri's teammate Ansu Fati is another youngster who instantly impressed upon breaking in the Catalan giants' senior side, and soon became the club's youngest ever LaLiga goalscorer – he was just 16 years and 304 days' old when he scored against Osasuna in 2019.

However, the 18-year-old, who was born in Guinea-Bissau, suffered a lengthy lay-off due to injury in November 2020 and only recently returned to training, but has been trusted with the Blaugrana's iconic No. 10 shirt, which has been worn by legends such as Johan Cruyff, Ronaldinho and Messi.

Barcelona's rivals Real Madrid's second signing of the latest transfer window was French prodigy Eduardo Camavinga. The young midfielder made his senior national team debut when he was just 17 years, nine months and 29 days' old, making him France's youngest debutant in a century.

The Les Bleus youngster, who was bought from Stade Rennais for a reported fee of 31 million (R533 million), scored against Celta Vigo on his debut for Los Blancos last weekend, so he has already raised eyebrows in Spain.

Another young talent to keep an eye out for in LaLiga in this campaign is the Japanese attacker who scored the winning goal against South Africa at the 2020 Olympic Games – scroll through the gallery above to see some other LaLiga wonderkids you should watch out for this season!
