Diego Simeone earns nearly the combined annual salary of Zinedine Zidane and Jose Mourinho, according to figures released by France Football.

Simeone, 49, has earned widespread plaudits for his role into reviving Atletico Madrid since his appointment at the LaLiga club back in 2011.

Closing in on a decade at the club, the Argentine has won seven major titles and led Atleti to the UEFA Champions League final in the 2013/14 and 2015/16 seasons.

And his success of challenging the status quo of the dominance of Real Madrid and FC Barcelona has been him earn a healthy package with a staggering annual wage of €40.5m (R767m).

The massive contract signed in 2017 after his second Europa League triumph is nearly the combined amount of Mourinho and Zidane's annual salaries of €23m (R435m) at Tottenham and Real respectively.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola ranks third in the list with €27m (R510m), which ranks him ahead of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp €24m (R435m) and Juventus head coach Maurizio Sarri €13.5m (R255m).

The rest of the top 10 comprises of Internazionale boss Antonio Conte, Fabio Cannavaro of Guangzhou Evergrande, Dalian Yifang boss Rafa Benitez and former Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde.
