Things took a bad turn in the first when Leno was taken off on a stretcher after landing awkardly on his leg after colliding with Neal Maupay.
Leno expressed his anger at Maupay while he was being taken off as he felt the striker did not need to make contact.
Maupay proved to be a big part of the encounter as he went to net the winning goal in second-half stoppage time, but his celebrations proved too much for Arsenal's Matteo Guendouzi who grabbed the striker by the neck.
The Brighton striker, meanwhile, did not hold back in assessment of the players after the scuffle.
"Some of the Arsenal players need to learn humility sometimes," Maupay, as per Eurosport.
"They were talking a lot first half, the second half when they were 1-0 up, and they got what they deserved."
