Eredivisie outfit SC Heerenveen have completed the signing of a highly-rated African star who has been dubbed the "Nigerian Iniesta".
Nigerian youth international Chidera Ejuke, who underwent trials with UEFA Champions League winners Liverpool in 2016, has penned a four-year deal with the Super Frisians following his arrival from Norwegian side Valerenga.
The Dutch outfit took to their official social media accounts to announce their acquisition of the 21-year-old, and reportedly paid €2 million (R31 million) for his services.
The winger was largely regarded as one of the brightest prospects in Norwegian football, registering six assists and scoring 15 goals in 69 appearances across all competitions for Valerenga, which prompted Heerenveen to snap him up.
"We are proud that Chidera has chosen us. We have been following him for some time and know his qualities," Heerenveen's technical director Gerry Hamstra said via the club's official website.
"With Chidera, we brought in a player for whom the people come to the stadium. With his speed, dribbling and scoring ability, he fits in perfectly with SC Heerenveen."
Ejuke was reportedly monitored by Premier League champions Manchester City before he went on trials with Jurgen Klopp's side in 2016.
