Cristiano Ronaldo's four goal haul in the Euro 2020 qualifiers on Tuesday evening saw him smash an all-time European goalscoring record.
In the build up to the game, Ireland legend Robbie Keane pleaded with the 34-year-old not to break his Euro qualifying record on Instagram, claiming Ronaldo 'had enough'.
The Portugal captain needed to score his eighth hat-trick for his nation to move ahead of Keane's 23 goals he bagged for Ireland.
And the five-time Ballon d'Or winner responded in typical fashion with four goals in a 5-1 win over Lithuania.
The performance, which also marked the 54th hat-trick of his illustrious career, saw head coach Fernando Santos lavish praise on his exploits.
"This is the clear and irrevocable proof that he is the best player in the world," Santos told the media, as per Football Italia.
