Yaya Toure wants to coach at Barca

International Transfers

Former Manchester City star Yaya Toure has revealed he hopes to secure a coaching job at FC Barcelona.

The Ivorian midfielder hung up his boots in 2019 and is now the assistant coach at Ukraine Premier League outfit FC Olimpik Donetsk.

The 37-year-old has revealed he is busy getting his coaching licence and hopes to land a job with his former club.

"I am finishing my coaching licence. Barcelona, for me, is the team where I want to end up. I don't know if in Barca B, in the academy, but I want to work at Barcelona," Toure told Cadena SER.

"I would love to work at La Masia, I still have a home in Barcelona.

"I know that, in Barcelona, they love me a lot. It was a very difficult decision for me to leave. I had everything there: football, life, climate. I had the best by my side, Xavi, (Andres) Iniesta.

"That's why I always want to end up in Barcelona. I watch TV in Catalan, TV3."
