Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Middlesbrough

Tottenham Hotspur set up a FA Cup fourth round date with Southampton after seeing off Middlesbrough 2-1 in their third-round replay.

Boro set up a nervy end to the match after George Saville found the back of the net, but it was a case of too little too late.

Newcastle United condemned Rochdale to a heavy 4-1 defeat to book their fourth round ticket at St James Park.

An own-goal from Eoghan O’Connell gave Newcastle an early lead while Matthew Longstaff and Miguel Almiron ensured a three-goal lead at halftime.

Shrewsbury Town 1-0 Bristol City

With the match seemingly headed for extra-time, Aaron Pierre came up with the goods for his side with the winner in the final minute of the match.

Reading progressed to the fourth round after a relatively comfortable 2-0 victory over Blackpool at Bloomfield Road.

The visitors grabbed the lead through Lucas Boye before Jordan Obita netted the second late in the game for a safe passage.
