Keita Baldé Diao, or more commonly known as 'Keita' is closing in on a switch to Inter Milan after just one season with AS Monaco.
Having joined the Ligue 1 side from Lazio for a reported €30m (R494m) in August 2017 as Kylian Mbappe's replacement, the loan agreement just 12 months later comes as a surprise move.
According to Football Italia the FC Barcelona youth product will complete the loan switch on Monday, while Inter will have the option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season for €34m (R560m).
The agent of the Senegal forward is confident his client is ready to reach greater heights under manager Luciano Spalletti - after scoring eight goals and registering 11 assists in 33 games last season.
"Monaco should be thanked: they gave Keita back his smile, serenity and carefreeness after years of tension and promises made and never kept by Lazio's board," Roberto Calenda told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"I'm not surprised they let him leave: the deal could benefit everyone involved. The player still wants to explode in the country where he’s grown as a footballer, and at 23 it’s the perfect time for him.
"Spalletti? He's the perfect person at the perfect moment. He can help Keita make the definitive step-up in his career."
