Never one to mince his words, Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has responded to a recent jibe made by Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil.
Mourinho was speaking to the media ahead of Spurs' Premier League clash against Fulham on Tuesday when he was asked to comment on remarks made by Gunners outcast Ozil, who recently claimed that he would rather retire than join his cross-town rivals.
In typical fashion, the Portuguese tactician delivered a blunt response in which he dismissed the notion that the former Germany international could play for his Spurs side, even if he had wanted to.
"But who told him we were interested in signing him?" Mourinho responded, according to PA Sport.
Ozil, who played under the 57-year-old during their time together at LaLiga giants Real Madrid, has not featured under current boss Mikel Arteta this season and is widely expected to sign for Turkish side Fenerbache in the coming days.
