Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly agreed a deal for a highly rated France centre-back, seemingly beating Manchester United to the player's signature.
Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that the London club and Sevilla have reached an agreement regarding a player-plus-cash deal for French defender Jules Kounde.
The fee is said to be in the region of €30 million (R521 million), with Davinson Sanchez reportedly going the other way to bring an end to his four-year stay in England.
Spurs are said to be leveraging a player exchange to compensate for the 22-year-old's €80 million (R1.3 billion) release clause in his contract with Sevilla.
It is claimed the defender, who has also been strongly linked with moves to the Red Devils and Real Madrid, now needs to make a decision, with both parties happy with the outcome of negotiations to date.
Kounde could yet decide to reject Nuno Espirito Santo's side after their disappointing 2020/21 Premier League season, which has left them competing in the UEFA Europa Conference League for the upcoming campaign.
The young defender had an impressive 2020/21 season for Los Palanganas, earning himself a 2020 UEFA European Championship call-up for France despite having never featured in a competitive fixture for his country's senior side prior to the tournament.
