With a number of players expected to leave the Theatre of Dreams as free agents at the end of this season, recent reports have suggested that the new head coach could raid his former club for reinforcements, and talks are said to have begun with Ajax centre-back Jurrien Timber.

The Red Devils have been poor defensively this season, conceding 56 goals in 37 league matches, and the 20-year-old, who has made 43 appearances to date in the Eredivisie giants' latest title-winning campaign, is viewed as someone who could bolster the English team's backline.

Timber's teammate Antony is also reportedly on the Manchester club's shortlist of transfer targets as they look to fill the void left by suspended forward Mason Greenwood, who remains the subject of an ongoing police investigation after being arrested on suspicion of rape, assault, and making threats to kill.

The tricky Brazilian winger recently admitted he is available if Ten Hag wants him at United, which has led to speculation he could be a set for a switch to Manchester.
