Following the completion of Ronaldo's move to the Red Devils, the Portuguese forward remains one of the highest earners in football with new wages in the region of £510 000 (R10 million) a week, according to spotrac.

In London, Tottenham Hotspur captain Harry Kane has been linked with a contract renewal after his move to Manchester City did not come to fruition.

It remains unknown as to how much the Lilywhites are ready to offer him, but the England star already shares the accolade of being Spurs' biggest earner, along with midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, with weekly wages of £200 000 (R3.9 million).

Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk recently signed a new contract to extend his stay at Anfield, confirming his status as the Reds' biggest wage-earner.

The 30-year-old is paid £220 000 (R4.3 million) a week, per spotrac, but with Mohamed Salah being linked with a bumper new deal at the Merseyside club, the Dutchman may not hold the title of the team's highest earner for much longer.
